For the first time I am identifying with the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, which began September 29-30, 2011. Previously I had identified with the Gregorian calendar since I'm a gentile believer. For example, the Lord told me previously that the calendar year 2011 would be a year of Rest. It was precisely true for me. I only worked part time as a real estate broker. This forced much free time on me. I also had no choice but to Rest in relying on the Lord to provide financially for me. More than one time I had only a month and a half in the bank. But “out of the blue” the Lord sovereignly provided another real estate client for me to assist. This pattern became so repetitive I surrendered my own strivings, since they yielded futility and barrenness, and simply responsibly did the work laid out for me that day to the best of my ability. I learned that He provided sufficient bread, stamina and sublime miracles for each day's responsibilities. If I didn’t have any client to assist, I spent even more time with the Lord. 2011 was a forced semi-retirement and, as a result, I was trained into a deeper Rest in Christ Jesus.
Peace-filled Defiance couples with the humble and trusting Rest learned in the testing and trials that many have been experiencing.
A few scriptures for this new season of Defiance:
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
John 14:12 (NIV)
He who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
1 Cor 6:17 (NIV)
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Cor 3:17-18 (NIV)
But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Cor 2:16 (NIV)
He replied, “… I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matt 17:20 (NIV)
There are some mountains that must be moved. A confident, peace-filled attitude of Defiance through the indwelling presence and power of the Son of Man, as when Jesus rebuked demons and storms, will manifest the Son of Man in us. Even the rocks forming the most formidable mountain will crumble like popcorn in obedient response to the defiant Rock of all ages indwelling His own.
Update as of October 5, 2011 8:00 pm:
The Lord just spoke to me about these difficult and dry times, this word is for everyone in the desert and experiencing affliction. It relates to Defiance against the enemy’s lies about who we are in Jesus Christ and what we can do in Jesus Christ.
Update as of October 19, 2011 10:45 pm:
I do not feel led to share the details of my life but certain strong coincidences and convergences have made it very evident that the Lord is telling me as well as some other prophetic sisters and brothers to enter into the lands promised to them, their Inheritance, the Promised Land. And some of us have answered the Lord, "Yes!” we will enter with boldness, with Jesus Christ with us, and use the spiritual weapons He has given us to cast down the enemies in the land (The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Cor 10:4 NIV).
I did a detailed study on Inheritance last year in July 2010:
It is just when so much is at stake that is characteristic of an Inheritance because the land is first occupied by enemies. Some of the key principals of Inheritance (and I cite the multiple scriptural references in my study):
3. To obtain an Inheritance you must first be on a potentially extremely scary battlefield with enemies much greater than you. You trust the Lord fights for you and drives out your enemies ahead of you (in modern day this might apply to lenders who extract interest on the land and thus are a controlling oppression).
7. You will have rest from your enemies and peace in your land only after the Lord – with you in the battlefield facing your enemies – drives out your enemies ahead of you and brings it into your possession (Deuteronomy 3:20, 12:9-11; 25:19).
This past week I have happened to hear three other prophets/teachers (Kim Clement, Hank Kunneman, and Rod Parsley) speak of Inheritance, Determination, Defiance, and Entering the Promised Land. I heard Rod Parsley when I happened to switch on TBN and Hank Kunneman when I happened to watch SidRoth.org yesterday (I have never listened to Hank before). It is not a coincidence, I believe, that descriptions of these times are similar. I am grateful I studied Inheritance last year and know that using our authority and spiritual weapons in Christ to command and cast down the enemies is critical before occupying the land. It emboldens me and I hope it emboldens you for your victory!
